The basics
Getting a scan every time
A QR code is just data drawn as squares. A few simple choices make it reliable wherever it ends up.
Encode anything
A website link is most common, but a QR code can hold plain text, an email address, a phone number, Wi-Fi details or a short message. Shorter content makes a simpler, easier-to-scan code.
Error correction
Higher correction lets a code still scan when it's slightly dirty, printed small, or partly covered — at the cost of a denser pattern. Choose Best for print and signage, Medium for everyday links.
Size & margin for print
Download the SVG for posters and packaging — it stays sharp at any size. Keep a clear "quiet zone" margin around the code so scanners can find it, and never print it smaller than about 2 cm.

Is this QR code generator free, and do the codes expire?
It's completely free with no sign-up and no limits. The QR codes are "static" — the data is baked right into the pattern — so they never expire and keep working forever. (They also can't be edited after the fact; to change where a code points, generate a new one.)
What is the error-correction level?
QR codes carry spare data so they still scan when damaged. Low recovers about 7%, Medium ~15%, High ~25% and Best ~30% of the code. More correction means a denser pattern, so use just enough — Medium for on-screen links, Best when the code will be printed or might get scuffed.
Should I download the PNG or the SVG?
Use the PNG for websites, slides and social posts — it drops straight in. Use the SVG for anything printed — business cards, posters, packaging — because it's a vector and stays perfectly sharp at any size.
